Small Cells can be deployed in place of traditional macro sites, to improve network coverage and capacity in a more efficient and cost-effective way.

Small Cell Rural Extension

Problem:

Poor coverage in low-density rural areas, where it is uneconomical to serve premises broadband directly.

Solution:

Extend the rural footprint provided by Macro Cells using Outdoor Small cells with Relay. 

Result:

Rural subscribers who are poorly served can be connected using high-performance 4G LTE that supports both FWA for Fixed Broadband and MBB for Mobile Broadband.

DAS Alternative

Problem:

Many small to medium enterprises cannot justify the costs involved in a DAS deployment, despite being poorly served by Macro Networks,  in parts of their buildings.

Solution:

Dense Air’s neutral host small cells are deployed at targeted premises at a more economical cost to a traditional DAS system.

Results:

Improved coverage and capacity for multiple MNO’, resulting in improved data and voice services for end-users.

Special Events

Problem:

Special locations, temporary events and seasonal capacity held in locations that are poorly served by Macro Cells, or permanent infrastructure.

Solution:

Temporary or tactical indoor and outdoor small cell deployments in locations where CoWs are expensive or inefficient.

Results:

The temporary deployment in target locations enables high-performance mobile broadband services (including VoLTE).

Macro Exhaustion

Problem:

Many exhausted Macro Cells exist in areas used for FWA services (primarily).

Solution:

Targeted deployment of small cells – both indoor and outdoor – using big data analytics, at cell edge.

Result:

Capacity offload and spectral efficiency are improved. Macro capacity is liberated to make more efficient use of timing and resource blocks.

Private Mobile Networks

Problem:

Private 4G networks are required to drive IoT and other productivity improvements. Requirements range from sensors to video surveillance. Existing public networks are currently unable to support these requirements.

Outdoor and Indoor Small Cells, designed for the target application/industry are deployed accordingly.

3G Small Cell Replacement

Copper Replacement

An area with active PSTN Local Exchange that is still in service and customer with copper services.

Improve 4G Macro coverage and capacity using small cells to ensure 100% of users can be migrated away from Copper services.

Copper exchange can be retired and OPEX  cost can be reduced.

An area with poor network capacity that requires additional macro cell upgrades.

Using both indoor and outdoor small cells to increase the capacity of 4G to delay or prevent  Macro upgrades.

Improve network capacity without the cost of upgrading existing macro cells, resulting in reduced CAPAX and ongoing OPEX costs.
